With the Eurowings SAF Bulk Deal Programme, we support our corporate customers in making their business trips more sustainable – through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and by contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions in aviation.

What is SAF – and why does it matter?

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is an alternative aviation fuel made from biogenic waste such as used cooking oil – entirely without palm oil. SAF can partly replace fossil kerosene and reduces CO₂ emissions by at least 80 percent compared with fossil fuel.

Eurowings uses SAF as part of the Lufthansa Group SAF Partner Programme. The SAF purchased is fed into Lufthansa Group flight operations within six months of purchase.

How the SAF Bulk Deal Programme works

Companies receive an individual report on the calculated flight-related CO₂ emissions of their Eurowings business travel over a defined period. Based on this data, the SAF contribution is determined – enabling flexible reduction of up to 80 percent of these CO₂ emissions.

For SAF Bulk Deals starting from €2,000, an Emission Mitigation Certificate (EMC) is also issued. This certificate can be used in non-financial reporting (e.g. under CSRD) as evidence of the company’s contribution to CO₂ reduction.
